The Holborn Grind, High Holborn, London

The Holborn Grind

Great Coffee At The Holborn Grind.

We spent the weekend (Friday 8 April – 10 April) visiting a couple of really good places to eat and of course good coffee. Although we didn’t spend as much time as we would like in coffee houses, we did stumble upon a good one called ‘The Holborn Grind’ part of the Grind & Co group and next door to the fabulous The Hoxton, Holborn.

Although ‘The Holborn Grind’ seems to be a jack of all trades, coffee, alcoholic drinks to exotic sandwiches and cakes, it’s very laid back but serves really good coffee. As usual for our coffee house test, we enjoyed a 12oz Cappuccino; the foam was lovely and creamy (although they added chocolate sprinkles without request) and the coffee had a deep and robust flavor which complimented the luxurious foam well. The foam was mixed well with the coffee and stayed throughout the drink, not like some high street houses where the foam just sits like washing up liquid foam onto of the coffee.

The barista cared on what she was delivering to her customers, and even though we were in a rush and got the coffee to go, we still had a lovely silver fern art added to the foam, handed over without lid so we could see her creation.

Very Cool Decor
The only negative about ‘The Grind’ is that the till and customer point is in the middle of the counter, making it a little confusing for customers wanting to order, particularly when you are waiting on your little delight to be served.

If you’re in London, the Holborn area and need a little pick me up, we would definitely recommend a visit.

We give ‘The Holborn Grind’ an 8 bean rating.
